Directions for Using Your Vintage Orco Tack It Pattern Marker

You'll occasionally run across one of these vintage sewing pattern marking devices, but the directions might not be included.  I had a copy of the directions, but of course, no marker.  No problem, I don't sew much anyhow; but here is that copy in case you need it!

Pork Cake and Spanish Stew Recipes

These two handwritten recipes were discovered tucked into a vintage cookbook; one unusual recipe is for Pork Cake, and the other is for Spanish Stew.  I love the opening line for the Spanish Stew recipe:  "One old chicken, nice and fat"!

As anyone who loves sewing knows, even vintage information from sewing books published in 1939 are worth learning from; all those lovely dressmaker details in the clothes of the era are wonderful!  These two vintage volumes have just entered the Busy Crow Studio shop in the Amazon online marketplace:

Vintage Kwik Sew Vest and Pants Pattern 804 for Boys

This vintage Kwik Sew sewing pattern is number 804, and creates flared pants, and a vest for boys, ages 10, 12, 14 (see back of pattern envelope for sizing).  The illustration kind of reminds me of the boys on the Brady Bunch show from the 70's....
